13-year-old boy struck by a car in Sydney’s Inner West while riding a bike and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 22-year-old man has been charged after a hit-and-run incident in Sydney’s inner west left a 13-year-old boy with serious injuries. The driver of the white Audi hatch failed to stop and assist, and the boy was hit by a car while riding a bike.

The driver continued along Reuss Street, failing to stop and help. The boy was treated by paramedics and taken to the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, where he is expected to make a full recovery.

A crime scene was established nearby Marr Reserve, and an investigation into the crash has begun. Chief Inspector Darrin Laing from Leichhardt Police Area Command stated that if involved in an accident, the obligations upon you are to stop and render any assistance that you can.

The 22-year-old man was charged with failing to stop and assist after a vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm and not giving particulars to an injured person. He was granted conditional bail and will face Downing Centre Local Court on March 27.
