China Telecom Gulf Officially Launches in Saudi Arabia, Strengthening Digital Ties
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – November 21, 2024 — China Telecom Gulf was officially launched in Riyadh, marking a significant milestone in China Telecom’s international expansion. The launch event was attended by over 100 business leaders and dignitaries, including Mr. Liu Guiqing, Executive Director and EVP of China Telecom Corporation, and Mr. Fawaz, Representative of the Contact Office of Chinese Companies in Saudi Arabia. The gathering also included representatives from key organizations such as the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Huawei, and the Bank of China.
This new venture is part of China Telecom’s broader strategy to contribute to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and to strengthen ties between China and Saudi Arabia in the field of information technology. The company operates across 42 countries and regions, with 53 international submarine cables and 27 self-operated Internet Data Centers (IDCs) worldwide.
China Telecom also signed several strategic agreements with local companies, including Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Huawei Saudi Arabia, and Baud Telecom Company. These agreements will focus on leveraging each party’s strengths to provide optimized digital solutions for Saudi customers, further enhancing the region’s technological infrastructure.
