Man Dies After Shooting in Sydney’s Inner City
A man has tragically died following a shooting in Sydney’s inner city on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called to Baptist Street in Surry Hills, near Cleveland Street, just after 7:45 PM, responding to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, NSW Police officers found a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of paramedics from NSW Ambulance, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, emergency services were alerted to a car fire on Kensington Road in nearby Kensington. Police discovered a Porsche engulfed in flames at the location. Early investigations suggest the two incidents may be connected.
A crime scene has been established, and local detectives, along with the state’s homicide squad, are now leading the investigation. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
