Read MoreDashcam film that captured the moment a ride-share crashed and rolled, killing a father and his 11-year-old daughter and seriously injuring a nine-year-old child, has been seen by police. The family was riding on Milperra Road in Milperra at 7:40 p.m. on Sunday when, according to police, dashcam evidence shows the driver turning right at an intersection before getting struck by an approaching Toyota Hilux. The male driver, 52, and the other three occupants were trapped when the vehicle rolled. Both Thai Duong, 41, and Hailie, his daughter, who was seated in the rear car, passed away at the scene. Duong’s nine-year-old son was one of the other passengers in the backseat. He was brought to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead by paramedics and was still in critical condition on Monday afternoon. Hailie was a sixth-grader at Bankstown’s St. Brendan’s Catholic School. According to a Sydney Catholic Schools spokesman, the loss of Hailie and her father stunned and grieved the community. “To make sure Hailie’s family and friends get the care and support they require during this time, the school will collaborate closely with them. The spokeswoman stated, “Coming together in prayer and comfort during times of grief is a hallmark of our Catholic community.” In any case, the loss of a young life is heartbreaking and can affect a large number of people in the community. Counselling services for staff and students are available as we process this tragic news and joyfully recall Hailie as a priceless gift to the St. Brendan’s community. The sedan’s driver was transported in critical but stable condition to Westmead Hospital. The 19-year-old driver of the ute was brought to Liverpool Hospital for required testing after sustaining minor injuries. The police crash investigation squad investigated the
